Subject: Wireless networks – general overview
Content: Normal 0 Wireless networks – general overview   Digital wireless communication started its journey when Italian physicist Gugliemo Maarconi could communicate from a ship to the shore. That was 1901 when he used Marse code (Dash and dot—same as binary) to communicate. That’s the basic idea. Basing on the same idea modern technology gave the wireless networks a rise in performance.   Wireless networks can be found in System interconnection, Wireless LANs and Wireless WANs.   System Interconnection uses master-slave paradigm – System is normally the master and mouce, keyboard are the slaves. By this you must have the experience of using wireless mouse and keyboards.   Radio modems are used in building a wireless LAN between your computers. Often there is an antenna on the ceiling. The computers actually talk to those antennas. For closer computers they can communicate through peer-to-peer configuration. WLANs are increasing in small offices. Most systems implements the standard WLANs (IEEE 802.11).   Wireless communications changed over generations. Here is a comparison of the generations for you   Generation Type Usage First Analog For Voice only Second Digital For Voice only Third Digital For both Voice and Data   The Mobile Phone communication is the best example of wireless communication.
